The slide progress list
A progress list steps through every slide in the deck with a running counter, and a green message appears when it reaches the end, so you can see at a glance how many slides your file will contain.
The download buttons
Download PDF and Download PPT each show a progress message while your file is assembled — for example, fetching slides in high definition, compiling or finalising. When the file is ready, your browser saves it automatically.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
- Validation. The link must come from slideshare.net, www.slideshare.net, or the pt, de, es or fr Slideshare subdomains.
- Lookup. Our server loads the public presentation page, reads the title and slide count, and identifies the largest slide image size Slideshare offers for that deck.
- Short-term caching. The slide list is kept in memory for about ten minutes, so if you download a PDF and then a PPTX, the second download skips the lookup.
- Parallel download. All slide images are fetched at the same time rather than one by one, with automatic retries if any request fails.
- Assembly. Images are converted where necessary and combined in their original order — into a PDF, or onto widescreen PowerPoint slides, scaled to fit without cropping.
- Delivery. The file is streamed to your browser and named after the presentation title. No copy is kept on our server.

Not supported: m.slideshare.net links (swap m. for www.), shortened links, profile and search pages, and links from other platforms such as Scribd, Speaker Deck or Google Slides.
Honest Limits
- Public decks only. Private, login-only and deleted presentations can't be downloaded.
- Static slides. Embedded video, audio, animations and clickable links aren't part of the slide images.
- Image-based text. Original words can't be retyped in the PPTX or selected in the PDF without OCR.
- Source quality. We use the largest images available; low-resolution uploads stay low resolution.
- One link at a time. This keeps the tool fast and reliable for everyone.
